The veteran Jamaican singer has released an official video for her latest single, bringing a new visual dimension to a song about love reaching the point of no return.
JC Lodge has released the official music video for “Too Far Gone”, giving her latest reggae recording a visual counterpart as the veteran Jamaican singer continues to release new music.
The video, released through Tad’s Record on September 20, arrives as Lodge remains active in Jamaica’s reggae scene while introducing her latest work to contemporary audiences. The song is also featured among Apple Music’s latest reggae selections.
“Too Far Gone” centres on the breakdown of a relationship and the point at which reconciliation may no longer be possible. Lodge approaches the subject through a measured vocal performance, allowing the song’s emotional tension to develop without relying on an exaggerated presentation.
The recording was produced by Tad Dawkins and Tad Dawkins Jr., with Michael Howell credited as recording engineer and Gregory Morris and Tad Dawkins Jr. among the mixing engineers.
The release is also part of a wider 2026 project for Lodge. “Too Far Gone” appears on Celebrating Jamaica 64, a 17-track compilation released by Tad’s Record in August to mark Jamaica’s 64th year of Independence.
The collection brings together artists from different periods of Jamaican music, including Marcia Griffiths, Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Brigadier Jerry, Terry Linen, Anthony Cruz, Hezron and Busy Signal. Lodge’s inclusion places her new recording within a project that connects established reggae voices with more contemporary names.
The new video gives the song another route to listeners beyond the audio release itself. That remains increasingly important for reggae recordings, as music videos, streaming platforms and digital radio now operate alongside the traditional channels through which Jamaican music has historically reached audiences.
“Too Far Gone” has also begun receiving attention outside Jamaica, including recent inclusion in programming by Reggae Portugal’s September 2026 reggae radio show.
For Lodge, the release is not a retrospective exercise. Instead, it adds a new recording to a catalogue that has continued to connect Jamaican music with listeners internationally.
The significance of “Too Far Gone” therefore lies in its place within Lodge’s continuing output: a new song, a new video and another opportunity for an established Jamaican voice to engage an audience accustomed to discovering reggae through increasingly varied digital channels.
The official music video for “Too Far Gone” is now available.
