Editorial Standards
Our commitment to accuracy, accountability, independence and responsible journalism.
RaptureStone is committed to producing journalism that is accurate, responsible, original and meaningful to our readers. Our editorial standards guide how we research, report, write, edit and publish stories across our news, entertainment, music, culture and features coverage.
We recognize that journalism carries a responsibility to the public. Our aim is to provide readers with reliable information while giving appropriate context to the stories we cover.
Accuracy Comes First
Accuracy is at the center of RaptureStone’s editorial work.
We make reasonable efforts to verify factual information before publication and seek to rely on credible and relevant sources. Depending on the story, these may include official government agencies, law-enforcement authorities, court records, public documents, direct interviews, statements from individuals or organizations, and established news organizations.
When information cannot be independently confirmed, we aim to make that clear rather than presenting it as established fact.
We do not knowingly publish false information.
Verification and Sources
RaptureStone evaluates information according to the nature and significance of the story.
For breaking and developing news, information may initially come from official statements, authorities, eyewitness accounts, public records or other credible sources. As a story develops, we seek to update our reporting when additional verified information becomes available.
Where appropriate, we identify the source of information within the article so readers can understand where important facts originated.
Information obtained from another publication is not automatically treated as fact. We seek to assess the reliability of the underlying information and provide appropriate attribution.
Attribution
RaptureStone believes readers should be able to distinguish between information gathered directly by our publication and information originating elsewhere.
When reporting relies substantially on information first published or reported by another credible news organization, we provide appropriate attribution.
We do not present another publication’s reporting as original RaptureStone reporting.
When quoting individuals or organizations, we strive to preserve the meaning and context of their statements.
Breaking and Developing Stories
Breaking news can change quickly.
When reporting on developing situations, RaptureStone distinguishes between confirmed information and details that remain uncertain, alleged or under investigation.
We may update an article as authorities, officials, witnesses or other credible sources provide additional information.
Readers should understand that an early report may not contain every detail of a developing story. When significant new information becomes available, we aim to update our coverage accordingly.
Allegations, Arrests and Legal Matters
RaptureStone takes particular care when reporting on arrests, criminal allegations, investigations, lawsuits and other legal matters.
An arrest or criminal charge is not a conviction. An allegation is not established fact unless proven through appropriate legal proceedings or otherwise confirmed through reliable evidence.
Our reporting aims to clearly distinguish between allegations, charges, official statements and established facts.
Where relevant and available, we seek to include information about the status of a case and the response of the person or organization involved.
Quotes and Interviews
RaptureStone values the voices of the people we interview and the individuals whose statements form part of our reporting.
Direct quotations should accurately represent what a person said. Minor editing may be applied for grammar, clarity or readability where appropriate, without changing the meaning or intent of the statement.
For exclusive interviews, RaptureStone aims to preserve the interviewee’s authentic voice while presenting the conversation in a clear and professional editorial format.
Original Journalism
RaptureStone produces original editorial content across news, entertainment, music and culture.
Our articles are written and structured specifically for RaptureStone. We do not intentionally reproduce another publication’s article or reporting as our own.
When outside reporting contributes to a story, we seek to add appropriate context, attribution and editorial value rather than simply reproducing the original material.
Headlines and Images
Headlines are intended to accurately communicate the substance of a story.
RaptureStone does not intentionally use misleading headlines designed to create a false impression about the contents of an article.
Images used with editorial stories should be relevant to the subject of the article and used in accordance with applicable rights, permissions or licensing requirements.
Where an image requires attribution, appropriate credit should be provided where practical.
Editorial Independence
RaptureStone maintains a distinction between editorial journalism and commercial activity.
Advertising, sponsorships, partnerships or other commercial relationships should not determine the editorial conclusions of our journalism.
Where material is sponsored, promotional or submitted for publication, it should be appropriately identified so readers can distinguish it from independently produced editorial reporting.
Editorial decisions should be based on the journalistic value and relevance of a story rather than commercial pressure.
Press Releases and Submissions
RaptureStone may receive press releases, artist submissions, public statements, promotional materials and other information from individuals, companies, public-relations representatives and organizations.
Receiving or publishing submitted material does not necessarily mean that RaptureStone endorses the claims or opinions contained within it.
When information is used from a submission, we may independently review or verify relevant factual claims depending on the nature of the story.
Fairness and Right of Response
RaptureStone aims to report fairly and provide relevant parties with an opportunity to respond when appropriate, particularly when serious allegations or disputes are involved.
When a response is unavailable before publication, we may state that the individual or organization was contacted or that no response had been received at the time of publication, where applicable.
If a relevant response is received after publication, we may update the article when the information materially contributes to the story.
Privacy and Personal Information
RaptureStone recognizes the importance of protecting personal information.
We avoid publishing private or sensitive personal information unless there is a legitimate and compelling journalistic reason to do so and the information is relevant to the public interest.
Our handling of website visitor information is governed by our Privacy Policy.
Corrections
Despite our efforts to maintain accuracy, errors can occur.
When RaptureStone identifies a significant factual error, we review the information and make an appropriate correction as soon as reasonably possible.
Material corrections may be identified within an article when appropriate so that readers are not misled by information that has subsequently been corrected.
Readers can report potential factual errors to our editorial team through our Contact page.
Conflicts of Interest
RaptureStone seeks to avoid conflicts of interest that could compromise the independence or credibility of our journalism.
Where a potential conflict is relevant to a story, appropriate disclosure or editorial measures may be considered.
Our editorial coverage should not be influenced by undisclosed personal, financial or commercial interests.
Respect for People and Communities
RaptureStone seeks to report on people and communities with fairness, dignity and respect.
We avoid unnecessary sensationalism, particularly when covering tragedies, crime, deaths, vulnerable individuals or other sensitive circumstances.
We also recognize the importance of context when reporting on individuals, communities and cultural issues.
Public Interest
RaptureStone considers the public interest when determining the relevance and significance of a story.
Public interest is not the same as public curiosity. The fact that information may attract attention does not automatically make every detail appropriate for publication.
Our editorial decisions seek to balance the importance of informing the public with considerations of accuracy, fairness, privacy and potential harm.
Continuous Improvement
Journalism is an evolving practice, particularly in a rapidly changing digital environment.
RaptureStone will continue to review its editorial practices as the publication develops and as new challenges emerge across digital journalism, social media, artificial intelligence, misinformation and the wider media landscape.
Our standards may therefore be updated when necessary to strengthen the quality, transparency and accountability of our journalism.
Our Commitment
RaptureStone’s commitment is straightforward:
Tell the story. Verify the facts. Provide context. Attribute information responsibly. Correct mistakes. Respect the people involved.
Our readers deserve journalism they can understand, question and trust. These standards are intended to help us maintain that responsibility as RaptureStone continues to grow.
