Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale is set to feature on Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel’s forthcoming album Radio Gidi, extending a long-running exchange between two of West Africa’s major music markets.
Kizz Daniel announced the album and its 12-track lineup this week, confirming that Radio Gidi will be released on October 16, 2026. Shatta Wale appears on the project’s 10th track, “Te Amo.”
The announcement places Shatta Wale among a multinational group of collaborators assembled for the album. The project also includes Nigerian artists FOLA, Young Jonn, Seyi Vibez and BNXN, British rapper Tinie Tempah, US-based artist Mannywellz and Jamaican dancehall singer Jahmiel.
The Ghanaian artist’s appearance comes on an album largely rooted in Nigeria’s contemporary Afrobeats scene. Shatta Wale’s presence gives the project a direct connection to Ghana’s dancehall tradition, while Jahmiel’s appearance on “Enough”, alongside Qing Madi, brings another Caribbean dimension to the tracklist.
For Shatta Wale, the collaboration continues his participation in cross-border projects involving artists outside Ghana’s music industry. His work has frequently moved between dancehall, Afrobeats and broader African pop, making the collaboration with Kizz Daniel part of a wider pattern of exchange between Ghanaian and Nigerian artists.
The tracklist also shows Kizz Daniel moving between established names and different musical scenes. Young Jonn, Krizbeatz and Wave Choir join him on “Owo Oluwa”, while Mannywellz and Kunmie feature on “Area Code”. Seyi Vibez and BNXN appear together on the closing track, “Taba”.
Kizz Daniel has already begun the album’s rollout. “Owo Oluwa”, featuring Young Jonn, Krizbeatz and Wave Choir, was released on September 16 as the first official single from Radio Gidi.
The album follows Kizz Daniel’s announcement earlier this year that he planned to release two projects in 2026, Radio Gidi and Uncle K.
The inclusion of Shatta Wale is particularly notable within the album’s geographic spread. While most of the featured artists are from Nigeria, the project also reaches into Ghana, Jamaica, the United Kingdom and the United States, giving Radio Gidi a broader collaborative footprint than a strictly domestic Nigerian release.
“Te Amo” has not yet been released as a standalone song. At present, it is confirmed as the 10th track on Radio Gidi, with the full album scheduled to arrive on October 16.
For Ghanaian dancehall, Shatta Wale’s appearance gives the genre another connection to a major Nigerian album at a time when collaborations across West Africa continue to bring the region’s separate music industries into closer contact.
