The scheduled Nairobi performance by Jamaican reggae singer Sanchez has been postponed, but organisers say Konqa Reggae Fest 4.0 will still go ahead on 2 September.
Sanchez’s planned appearance at Konqa Reggae Fest 4.0 in Nairobi has been postponed following what organisers described as unforeseen logistical challenges.
According to the announcement, the management of Konqa, together with Sanchez’s management team, mutually agreed to postpone the Nairobi show. A new date for Sanchez’s performance is expected to be announced later.
The postponement does not mean the cancellation of the wider festival.
Konqa Reggae Fest 4.0 will continue as scheduled, with organisers announcing that admission to the festival will now be completely free.
The event is set to begin at 2pm on Wednesday, 2 September, and continue until 2pm on Thursday. It will take place at Konqa along Nairobi’s Northern Bypass, next to Two Rivers Mall and beside Total Petrol Station.
A Kenyan reggae showcase

Although Sanchez will no longer perform on the original date, the festival will feature a number of Kenyan reggae and live-music acts.
The announced performers include Toxic, Lyrikali, Kapitani, Necessary Noise featuring Wyre and Nazizi, Gravity Band and Chockeman Dadah. The programme will also feature reggae DJs and selectors.
Organisers said the decision to make the festival free follows what they described as overwhelming support and subscriptions for the event.
Rather than cancelling the gathering following Sanchez’s postponement, the festival team has chosen to continue with the wider programme and give audiences an opportunity to experience the Kenyan reggae showcase without an admission fee.
What happens to Sanchez ticket holders?
People who already purchased tickets for the Sanchez show will be able to use those tickets when the performance is rescheduled, according to the organisers.
Ticket holders who prefer a refund have also been instructed to contact the email address provided by the event management: sanchez@madfun.com.
At the time of the announcement, organisers had not confirmed the new date for Sanchez’s Nairobi performance.
For Konqa Reggae Fest 4.0, however, the message is clear: the festival will continue.
The event will now take place as a free reggae gathering featuring Kenyan performers, bands, DJs and selectors, while fans wait for further information about Sanchez’s rescheduled Nairobi appearance.
