Jamaican reggae and dancehall veteran Capleton is set to headline Appleton Estate Live Wire in Clarendon on October 31, sharing the stage with emerging artists Deep Jahi and Jamarii for an event highlighting different generations of Jamaican music.
The show will take place at The Wharf Estate in Clarendon, with gates scheduled to open at 9 p.m. The event is expected to run into the early hours of November 1, according to published event information. <Link url=”https://www.ticketgateway.com/event/view/livewire” title=”TicketGateway’s event listing”/>.
For Capleton, the performance presents another opportunity to connect with Jamaican audiences through a catalogue that includes “Jah Jah City,” “Who Dem” and “Slew Dem.”
“It’s always an enthusiastic feeling to perform at an event for the first time,” Capleton said in comments published by The Jamaica Gleaner on October 17. “Expectation high, anticipation high, it’s a pleasure being the headliner and leading the charge for this staging of Live Wire.” <Link url=”https://web4.jamaica-gleaner.com/article/entertainment/20261017/capleton-ready-live-wire-clarendon” title=”Read the original report”/>.
The veteran performer said audiences could expect a show centred on empowerment and enlightenment, alongside the energetic delivery that has characterised his stage performances.
Capleton also reflected on the qualities he believes have sustained his career, pointing to his continued commitment to music and his relationship with fans across generations.
“The passion that I have for the music is what fuels the consistency, the longevity, the substance, the resilience,” he said.
His advice to younger performers focused on discipline, humility and respect for the artists who helped establish reggae and dancehall before them. He encouraged emerging musicians to protect their character, remain self-determined and recognise the foundations on which their careers are being built.
Those themes will be particularly relevant to Deep Jahi and Jamarii, both of whom are scheduled to perform alongside the veteran artist.
Jamarii described the opportunity to share the stage with Capleton as a significant moment in his career, acknowledging a mixture of pride, excitement and nervous anticipation. He said he was grateful to be included in the event.
Deep Jahi also cited Capleton as an inspiration from the beginning of his musical journey. The younger performer said he was looking forward to performing in Clarendon, which he considers one of his strongest areas of support.
Their inclusion gives the event a generational dimension, pairing an established performer with artists seeking to expand their reach and introduce their music to wider audiences.
Dominic Bell, communications manager at Appleton Estate, said the brand’s involvement reflects its connection to Jamaica’s musical heritage. He described the event as an opportunity to bring an established reggae and dancehall figure together with emerging performers while creating greater exposure for the next generation.
The Clarendon staging continues the Live Wire event series, which brings Jamaican artists to audiences through live performances. For Capleton, the appearance also provides a platform to reinforce his message about the importance of musical heritage, artistic discipline and continuity within the industry.
With Deep Jahi and Jamarii joining the bill, the October 31 event will place three performers at different stages of their careers within the same programme, highlighting the connections between dancehall’s established voices and those working to build its future.
RaptureStone will continue to follow developments in Jamaican dancehall and reggae, including new releases, live performances and the artists shaping the genres.
